At my first tutorial I suggested boldly carving into the existing Radford Mill structure, and inserting an exciting theatre structure into the carved space. It was suggested I create a 'new type of architecture'.
A brief for a new type of architecture is a pretty big one, however one which I am keen to succeed at. My 1:1 project was based upon a parasitic idea. Parasitic architecture grows from an existing structure. I am keen to create a type of architecture which destroys and decays a structure from within, with the new development sitting within the space created by the destroyed pre-existing structure.
